日々 2016 ~
This series "Every Single Day" is composed of photographs of everyday scenes I observed while raising my child into a series of short stories. For the first few years after giving birth, my time at home increased, but I had neither the time nor the emotional space to create new work. I simply focused on caring for the tiny baby in front of me and taking pictures. During this period, my thoughts were also focused on the relationship between mother and child, feminism, and my connection to the community.
Eventually, the strong energy emanating from my child's small body, the beauty and humor in her fleeting movements, and her facial expressions began to inspire new ideas and creativity. It was also around this time that I started to pay close attention to the natural environment, the changing seasons, and the cycles of life around me, living and photographing with a new sense of awareness.
『日々』では、子育てを通して見た日常風景を複数のショートストーリーのようにして構成しています。出産してから数年間は、家にいる時間は増えましたが作品を作る時間や気持ちの余裕はなく、とにかく目の前にいる小さな赤ん坊を世話して撮っていました。母子の関係やフェミニズム、地域との繋がりについてより考えていたのもこの時期です。
ある時から、その小さな身体から発せられる強いエネルギーや、一瞬の身体の動きの美しさやおもしろさ、子どもの表情やユーモアが、いろいろなアイデアや創造力を与えてくれるようになりました。また、周囲の自然環境と四季、命あるものの営みや日々の変化に注視して生活をし、撮影するようになったのもこの頃です。
